There have been a recent surge of home businesses based on filling out surveys to make money. The way it works is that you sign with many different survey companies and then over time they will send you surveys and questionnaires to fill out and in return will pay you in either cash or by giving you coupons etc. The best opportunity with these is to sign up to do focus groups where you can get paid up to $60 an hour.
The challenge with doing survey based work is that you only have so many hours a day and the average hourly rate is not that great. Unless you are unemployed, you are better off learning how to create a real internet business where you either sell your own products or market other people’s products.

Doing survey work is similar to working a job and your income will always be limited. The work may be easy but I recommend that you also take some time to learn to market your own products or other people’s products.

I suggest that if you are starting out that you promote information products as the commission levels on these are much greater that physical products. There are several strategies you can use to promote your products, you can use pay per click advertising at places like Google adwords, Yahoo Search marketing, Go click and Miva. The most important thing with paid advertising is to track your return on investment. Start small and don’t spend more than you can afford. Once you find campaigns that are producing income, you can then expand and spend more since you are now profitable.
