If you have been around affiliate marketing for any length of time you will undoubtedly have heard of Clickbank. Clickbank is a leading digital products retailer and one the great things about their products is that they offer very high commissions sometimes as high as 75%. Also digital products tend to sell better that physical products simply because people are able to get their product almost instantly after payment.
There are many different kinds of products at Clickbank from health and fitness to internet marketing. Practically any e-book or software program that people are willing to pay for, you can probably find at Clickbank. Many of the popular categories such as ‘health and fitness’ and ‘marketing and ads’ are very competitive, meaning that there are lots of other affiliates promoting these products.
Many times, especially if you are new it may be a good idea to stay clear of these extremely competitive categories at least until you gain some more experience and have some cashflow from promoting less competitive products. A very effective strategy in promoting Clickbank products is to promote only new products through google adwords. What you need to do is check each section and sort out the new products using the search options. Each week, over 100 new products are added to the Clickbank library.
Once you have found a few good quality new products that have a solid sales letter also, then you need to setup a google adwords campaign. If you do not have an adwords account, you can sign up at http://adwords.google.com/. Make sure that you have some money to put into advertising, you do not need much to test this approach, maybe at most $30. Now setup a campaign but only bid on the product name.
The reason to only bid on the product name is because this kind of traffic is highly targeted and is most likely to buy the product since they are already familiar with it and are actively seeking that specific product. They have already been pre sold. You need to setup a cloaked link to your Clickbank affiliate url for each product in order to get around the double serving rule for Google adwords. Repeat this process for several products, you will find that you will be able to get clicks very cheaply since you will be one of the first ones bidding on these valuable brand searches.
Another approach which does not involve any money at all is writing articles. What you need to do for each new product release is write a review article or even a general article that is based on good keywords in the title. At the bottom of these articles include a link to your site. If you do not have a site, you can setup a blog for free at blogger.com and have your affiliate products there. Add some review based posts to your blog, also try to add in some general article based posts as well so that you appear like a more credible information source and not just someone looking to sell stuff all the time.
You articles should be around 500-700 words and start with a good keyword in the title and then expand the title to make it catchy. For example, “Affiliate Project X Review – Is This A Scam Or Can You Really Make Money With Affiliate Project X.” Submit your articles to as many article directories as you can. Just do a search on Google for “Article Directories” and you will find many more. Remember that this is a numbers game, you need to repeat this as many times as possible to get the maximum benefit. You can make money online regardless of your budget, even if you have no budget so don’t give up.
